I don’t even know where to start. My girlie is graduating. How did we get here so quickly? It seems like just yesterday we were bringing home this sweet little baby and here we are, with a cap and gown and graduating suma cum laude. (Yup, I just bragged about my kid there. Not even trying to hide it.)
Jill has grown into a super thoughtful, uber analytical, brilliant young woman. She likes to plan and do research and see all sides before doing anything. She has a big heart, loves to hike, kicks booty at board games, is a hard worker and loves her family but don’t make any big public announcements that would draw attention to any of this and PLEASE don’t give her a big hug. (A high five would be much preferred by her!)
This girl is thrilled to be going to Western Washington University in the fall. It is the first school she looked at and the only school she applied to. Before we took a campus tour in early 2016 tears would come to her eyes any time we talked about her going off to college. She just couldn’t picture herself leaving home and had no idea what to expect. (Remember, this girl is a planner and she needs to know what she will be looking forward to!) When we went on the tour I could see the stress melting out of her body. I knew, before even asking her, that this was the place she would go. The campus and community are perfect for her and she is so excited for her next adventure.
This week I am going to share some of my favorite pictures of this kid. I’ve had the hardest time cutting it down to just these but even still I’m going to break them into three different blog posts starting tomorrow. Since words are escaping me I am hoping that these will help tell her story.
Kid, your Dad and I are just so proud of you and can’t wait to see what is next in your life!
