The start to summer sent us in three different directions. Allen and the older girls went down to Tijuana together. (Their guest blog post detailing their adventure will be up later this week.) Kate and I stayed closer to home but no less fun!
Kate started her week by spending time with Allen’s family. She went there to hang out, see Mini (the cat) and put in some serious elbow grease. Kate is so much like her dad. She is not quite old enough to get a job but this girl likes to shop so she is highly motivated to earn money. While she was in Silverdale Wanda put her to work cleaning windows. She worked HARD but she financed our shopping trip to Portland so it was totally worth it!
The first thing I did while everybody was gone was clean the house. I knew that it would stay clean for five whole days. FIVE DAYS! Cooper and I also did some nice long hikes and I had got the chance to catch up with some friends I haven’t seen in ages.
When Kate got home she got a new set of hardware and then the next day we set out for a little girls trip to Portland. This girl loves to shop but she is very thoughtful about it. She set herself a budget for each day and really stuck to it. While I don’t always agree with her purchases (she admits that she is a big fan of ‘crap’) I love the fact that she always has a plan. We started our fun at an awesome outlet mall and then the second day we poked around downtown Portland.
It was a fun chance to get some special one on one time with my girl!
Stay tuned later this week to hear how Tijuana was for Mr. Fun, Jill and Ellie!
