That’s right folks. We broke our record on Christmas. This year we put together 4,681 lego pieces to form four amazing creations. It was all hands on deck and everybody helped (except for Dubs because she was up to her elbows in turkey preparations). Actually, I must clarify to give credit where it is due. Jill proudly put together her two creations all by herself. That was a God send because Ellie’s creation had more pieces than Jill’s two sets combined. Plus we needed to put together Kate’s too!
Without further ado I present Jill’s Hogwarts Castle and Hagrid’s Hut
Ellie got the Lego Grand Emporium. For those uninitiated in the ways of legos this is really a department store, sort of like Harrods. The detail is simply amazing. There is a clothing department complete with mannequins, dressing rooms and a hat counter. There are escalators to take your minifigures from floor to floor, a china department, a toy deparment, a revolving door, crystal chandelier and a billboard on top. Incredible!
Santa brought Kate the Lego Bakery. This cute set has a brick oven, a counter with bakery treats, an outside kiosk selling hot chocolate and a fun ice skating rink out front.
This little guy has got to be my all time favorite lego figure. Look at that smile. Of course the fact that he is holding a camera is definitely a point in his favor! I think he is actually cracking up at the poor fool (in red pants) who went head first into the snow bank.
We had plenty of other Christmas fun too but my camera was put away for most of it. Here are a few shots I got of our other activities.

And even Cooper had some Christmas fun. He found a nice spot outside that had plenty of animal dung and compost and applied a little perfume to himself. Needless to say he spend the rest of the day outside.
I cannot show you a picture of the gift Allen and I gave each other because we don’t quite have it yet. We decided to be practical and we are having a new Master Closet system installed. Boring but much needed! I’m sure I will take some before and after shots and I’ll share later this month.
Have a Happy and Safe New Year’s Eve tonight!
