A rainy October day is the perfect time remember our summer activities, right? I realized recently that I haven’t shared a lot of these pictures on my blog and I definitely want them to make it in my blog book at the end of the year.
So take a walk down memory lane with me and think warm thoughts!
We did lots of hiking this summer. Some went by choice, some went by bribe. Whatever! It’s good exercise and good to be outside! Hikes with friends and cousins are much more fun than hikes with mom, but I don’t take it personally. The dog thinks hiking with me is awesome!
In preparation for her backpacking trip Jill happily accompanied me to the top of Poo Poo point. That is a HARD hike with an amazing view at the top. Did we take pictures of that view? Nah! We decided to play with silhouettes instead. THAT was totally worth all the work!
We also had plenty of fun down at the creek…
We only made it to Jetty Island once this year and it was super windy, but super fun too!
Now that my parents have sold their dock (okay, the house was sold too) we had to find a new spot to watch the Blue Angels. Nailed it!
The girls had a great time with the Enebo’s for Camp DDD…and Allen and I got two date nights in a row. Woot!
A lot of frisbee was played this summer. Jill picked it up from her friend Colin and was determined to play well so she was often asking for the crew to go to the park with her. (You can tell Ellie and Ava are really into the game!)
We went to the State Fair for the first time. What took us so long to get there?!?
I finally caved and let Kate color her hair. Since Kool Aid didn’t show up in her hair we went all out and use Lusty Lavender hair dye. It’s no longer lavender but a lovely shade of pink at this point.
The girls ended the summer with a backyard campout that the girls planned and executed on their own. The only detail they didn’t cover was Mother Nature because she dumped rain on them during the night. Best laid plans!
Okay…we now bring you back to your regularly scheduled fall activities.
