Jill’s good friend Colin has an awesome cabin on a beautiful lake called Lake Joy. One of the best things about this cabin is that you feel like you are away on vacation while you are there but it is really only 45 minutes away. That means Colin and his family spend most of the summer and a lot of weekends the rest of the year there.
Lynne and Thomas are so welcoming to their friends and so willing to share their space. There is a constant revolving door of friends and family visiting the lake and they are fantastic hosts.
We’ve been lucky enough to spend time out at their cabin for two summers now and I’ve always had a vision for a picture I wanted to take but I needed just the right time. It had to be on a slightly overcast day and I needed all the right characters willing and able to take the leap.
A few weeks ago the stars aligned and I got exactly what I was looking for. I thought I was going to have to do some serious photoshop because the characters were having trouble syncing up their jumps. Some would be up, some would be down. It wasn’t good. But sure enough, on the last jump, we got it done.
It was like Christmas when I got to my computer and opened up my images. Woo hoo!
I love that I have finally captured the feel of Jill’s happy place and I hope Colin and his family love the pictures as much as we love our time out there with them! (Happy Birthday Colin!)
