We had a great time up in Suncadia last week. We had so many different visitors coming through that we started saying the beds had ‘hot sheets’ on them! After our company party Joelle and her crew came up for some snowy fun. The boys were so excited to play in the snow that they got their snow clothes on within 5 minutes of their arrival!
With the Harrisons we built snowmen, went ice skating, had snowy s’mores and went back to the sledding hill. Fun!
In between our groups we made a quick trip to the ski hill so I could try out my new ACL and brace. It had been two years since I’d skied. The girls are so good now! Two years ago I spent a lot of time slowly skiing behind them or leading the way like ducks behind me. This time I really wanted to just fly so I would wait until I could see them get down safely and then I’d speed down the run. The snow was perfect and I didn’t feel my knee at all. I think I surprised my girls with that speed too. Ha! Mama can fly!
By the time The Enebos (Allen’s family) arrived we were ready to snuggle into the couch with our books and movies. The timing was perfect because it got much colder then too, so being outside was a bit on the painful side!
I didn’t get many pictures of us with the Enebos all together because I was off taking pictures of Deana and Wade. (Stay tuned for those next week!) Allen, though, did capture his parents sledding. Gotta love that Wanda was out there celebrating her 72nd birthday with a run down the hill. Dean was not going to be left behind so he donned Allen’s ski mask (from when he was 10) and jumped on a tube too. I’d like to point out that this would NOT be a good bank robbing mask. Way too easy to spot!
What a great start to our family memories at this Suncadia house. Here’s to many many more!
