This year, just before Christmas, these awesome shirts came across my feed. We are all about girl power in this house so I KNEW I needed to get some and put them under the tree for my girls. Jill is a huge skiing fan and loves to go anytime she can.
Ellie and Kate are a little less enthusiastic. Kate used to be balls to a balls to the wall skiier. When she first started we literally had to put a tow rope around her because she would barrel down the mountain, faster than we could go. Now she is much more cautious so we are trying to appeal to her competitive side and challenge her to make less turns and speed up. I think that is the effect of two REALLY BAD ski seasons (no snow) right in the middle of her formative ski years. Bummer!
And Ellie? As Jill says, you can spot her right away because she is the one who looks bored. She is a steady Eddy skiing at medium speed but there is something about the way she hold her shoulders and arms that just screams ‘ho hum’. It’s kind of funny to see but we want to up the enthusiasm. Come on kid! Fake it till you make it!
As for me I love being back on the sticks. I missed two years because of my ACL issues so it’s been fun to hit the slopes again!
Here’s to more family fun and more skiing like a girl!
PS- Mr. Fun is having a good time skiing too. He is the best at getting us up to the mountain but making it super easy for us. He literally sets out all of our clothes, loads up the equipment and lowers as many barriers to entry as possible. He would go every day if he could. I love that he always keeps us moving!
