Grayson surprised me. I always ask my seniors to bring along an object that visually represents something they really like to do. I’ve had footballs, baseballs, a camera, books, etc. He was the first to bring along a tennis racket, but that was not the surprise. The surprise was that he brought along an Xbox game controller. How cool! We had fun trying to figure out how to incorporate it. (It was easier to incorporate than the Snuggie that he WANTED to bring but forgot. Um….I don’t do DUDOIR photography. Ha!)
Grayson had just gotten back from a trip to California where he visited a ton of colleges. He really liked Cal Poly where their philosophy was to learn by doing. Love that! He is well on his way to studying film and business because he works with Kody doing the photo editing for their corporate video business. I told him he should definitely take some digital marketing classes. I’ve been trying to up my game on social media and I told him that some photographers are reaching seniors on Instagram but generally it is the Mom’s that are hiring me so I’m reaching them on Facebook. He turned to me and said ‘It wasn’t my Mom who picked you. I did!’ I was speechless for a second…and that’s saying something! Thanks Grayson. I’m so glad you did!
