Actually, this post is a bit late, but we celebrated a bit early. So it all evens out, right?
Every year we ring in the new year with St. John, Newfoundland Canada. We celebrate with them because they ring in the new year at 7:30 Pacific Time. That is perfect for our early to bed crowd. Amazingly there is a website dedicated to counting down to the new year. We are so dedicated to this tradition that one year I even made hats that said ‘Happy Newfie New Year!’
This year we spent the evening bowling and noshing with our next door neighbors. As the hour (or half hour in this case) approached the kids gathered around my cozy iMac to wait with anticipation. That’s what the kids are watching in that first picture. Once the clock hit 7:30 pandemonium erupted. The kids started doing laps around the house with horn blowers and the dogs (we were babysitting a puppy) started ducking for cover.
We were able to hit the sack early enough for us to hit the slopes BEFORE the lifts opened. That’s just fun all the way around!
