Miss Leighton likes to take her sweet time. She was perfectly happy in her Mama’s tummy so she went well more than a week past her due date. Then when they gave her a nice gentle eviction notice she STILL took two days to make her grand entrance into this world.
So, with all this in mind it should have come as no surprise that this sweet baby girl took her time falling asleep for us. You might think that this would have made my morning harder but in stead it just made it better. That is because, I had plenty of time to chat with Ryan and Bre and just as much time to snuggle with this little babe. Ahhh…the perks of my job. And since this little girlie is my second cousin it was okay to kiss her while I was snuggling her too!
Welcome to the world Leighton Mae!

A couple of weeks ago I saw a post on Facebook that Kelli was visiting a friend in the Pediatric ICU. I asked her to message me if she thought they needed to have pictures taken of their sweet baby.
When Kelli emailed me with more details I was shocked. This was one of MY families. I had photographed their first baby, Evan, when he was a newborn. I didn’t even realize this family had moved back to town, never mind having a new baby. Or having TWINS!
Grayson and Elizabeth were born in December and until a couple of weeks ago they were very healthy. Unfortunately Grayson fell very ill and ended up in the PICU for over a week. He has now progressed to the regular medical floor but he has quite a way to go in his recovery so if you would like to add this little guy to your prayers (lots of prayers needed on my blog this week!) he could use them. He truly is a miracle so I was happy to celebrate that with pictures of him and his sister.
Here are my favorites from this hospital session. I can hardly wait to do a photo session with the WHOLE family when Grayson gets out of the hospital!
Have I shared with you the challenges of getting young sibling photographs? Have we talked before about how hard it is to get a four year old and a two year old and a newborn all in one frame? How it can be really hard to get the older siblings to safely hold the newborn and asking them to smile on top of it is often out of the question? Well forget I ever said any of that!
Jackson and Grant were so amazing with their baby sister and with each other, AND with me! That sat right down in my chair and waited patiently for their sister to finish eating. Waited patiently…they are 2 and 4. I honestly couldn’t believe it! These boys were amazing and made my job look easy. (Okay, so they were done with me by the time we got to the family picture, but that was just the cherry on top!)
Baby Madison takes after her brothers. She was this sweet little bundle who went right to sleep and let me have my fun. Here are my favorites…
