I can’t believe I totally forgot to mention a huge event in Jill’s life. Way back in October Jill tried out for the school play. On the day the cast list was posted I drove Jill to school so she could check it before school started. I don’t know who was more saddened that Jill’s name wasn’t on that list. Jill because she wasn’t going to be in the play or me because it was so hard to watch. (Sometimes parenting sucks.) Allen and I highly encouraged Jill to contact the drama coach to see if she could help out on the crew. She thought about it for a few days and finally sent an email to ask. Her timing was perfect because one of the sound crew had to drop out because of previous commitments. Game on!
Even though I do believe she won’t be signing on to help with any drama productions any time soon (Jill stresses when she doesn’t get enough time to do her homework. I’ll have to give Mr. Fun props for this because this attitude sure didn’t come from me!) I am so glad Jill participated. She got to know a lot of other kids, learned a lot about how to put on a play and she learned a lot about herself in the process.
And now when our Drama Queen puts on a little production of her own (i.e throwing some sort of dramatic fit) we know that it has some serious production value!
