This family is family. Allen and Scott went to high school together and when we first moved to our community, 15 years ago, it was a happy coincidence that we moved in just three blocks away from them. Sally and I spent countless afternoons watching these girls grow up together. Sally and I had very similar parenting styles and it was so nice to have a partner in crime!
When Sally called me in the spring to book this session for their family and for Maggie’s senior pictures I nearly cried. How can we be here so soon? How can it be that these girlies, whom I remember being born, are taller than me now?
Since Sally booked the session there have been some tragic accidents in our community. Accidents where parents have been lost and others where whole families, only by the Grace of God, have been spared. It has been way too long since I photographed these guys all together and I’m so happy that they made this a priority before Maggie flies off to college next year. (Moral of the story? Make it a priority to get family pictures. You need to record your family history. It’s important!)
Wow, this turned out to be such a serious blog post but I seriously love these guys so much that I just can’t help it! Here are my favorites.
Okay, okay. I can’t leave you on a totally serious note. At the end of our family session Anna asked if we could do some jumping pictures. That seems to be my M.O. this summer! I’m so glad everybody agreed. The expressions are priceless! (I’m thinking a large canvas of this over their fireplace would be appropriate.)
