Now where was I? Oh yes, complete domination by the Tie-Dye team in the Family Olympics.
Day two was the dawn of the pool olympics. On this day we got lucky with the weather. The first full day of camp was probably 62 degrees and I never took my North Face coat off. God knew that we couldn’t wear ski coats during the swim competitions so he gave us some sunshine. I’m sure that’s how we got the 75 degrees.
Kate and Josh dominated the ‘act like your favorite animal and jump off the diving board’ competition.
Josh was dog:
And Kate was a cow but they thought she was a Meerkat:
Ellie helped with the aquaatic scavenger hunt (not pictured) and Jill was the Syncronized Swimming lead:
This looks like it is part of the pool olympics, but it was really part of the afternoon free time. The good weather was a bonus for all of those activities too. (Like the lake, zipline, horseback riding, etc.)
The girls also made pool time extra special by showering in exceptionally cold water for 20 seconds and then jumping in the pool. Why? I have NO idea!
There was also plenty of time for wrestling and tag before dinner:
Finally, we dressed up like pirates for our last dinner at camp. Kids were encouraged to go up to the stage to tell pirate jokes. Shy retiring Kate was the second kid in line. Her joke?
What do witches put on their bagels? SCREAM CHEESE!
No so piraty, but it was cute to see her up there none the less.
At the risk of drawing this out even longer, check in tomorrow for a little video of a fun hunt Allen and I put together for the kids…
