In the great longstanding tradition on both sides of our family we have handed down the bad eye genes. Last year Allen had lasik surgery to correct his near blindness ( no kidding he was about 20/400) and I wear either contacts or glasses everyday.
We had all the girls’ eyes checked in September, but in January Jill was complaining that she had trouble seeing the Smart Board. Apparently this is a common complaint from kids who have these new fangled chalk boards at their schools. Instead of writing in a nice big font on a whiteboard or chalkboard there are document cameras that project small book sized fonts up on the board. This is a problem!
When we took her in to the optometrist, sure enough her vision had gotten a bit worse and is now 20/40. In the grand scheme of things this is not bad at all, but Jill likes things to be just perfect, as any firstborn does. Believe me! I’m one of them!
After trying on 7862 different shapes and colors Jill decided on these little green beauties. She picked them because they complement her eyes. (I totally agree!) Her sisters are just ‘green’ with envy!
