That is what I was when I uploaded the images onto my computer. Giddy. I had a particular shot in mind when I scheduled this session and I just can’t believe I got it. This week I ran all over town looking for just the right soft brown blanket. Then I thought of the flower for her hair just that morning so I whipped it up while the girls got ready for school. But the star of the show was Emerson and I thought she might not be the right fit. Boy was I wrong!
I knew Miss Emerson was an older newborn. Can you even say that? She was 8 weeks old when we did our session and technically newborns (as far as photographers are concerned) are two weeks old or younger. Older babies don’t typically fall into a deep sleep because their alert periods are getting longer and longer.
When Emerson first arrived we fed her and then crossed our fingers for sleep. No such luck for this party girl. She thought I was hilarious and kept gurgling and smiling at me. No faster way to melt my heart kid! So we had a good time taking some awake shots and Tara and I crossed our fingers that a little top off at the milk bar might do the trick. I don’t know what Tara was serving but Emerson was out like a light!
I got all the shots I was hoping for and then some. Tara – I hope you love these as much as I do!
And one more that just cracks me up…
