This is the sum total of family pictures we got on the Fourth of July. We had a great day starting with Allen, Jill, Kate and Cooper walking in the local Kids and Pets parade. Ellie has figured out that if you watch the parade, instead of walking in the parade, that you get to collect candy. So Ellie and I kept Joelle and Stephen and Jack company on the curb.
After the parade extravaganza we had the roaming band of kids and their parents over for a BBQ. It was quite toasty outside (90 degrees) but we had a nice time in the shade of the umbrellas.
Next, instead of opting for the overcrowded, over hyped fireworks show, we took the kids to see the movie ‘Up’. Holy Cow! If you haven’t seen the movie yet then be sure you bring tissues. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry and the animation will amaze you. How’s THAT for advertising? We all agreed that the best part of the movie is the dog named Doug. He reminded us so much of Cooper!
Finally, we ended our Independence Day with a trip to the local photobooth. I love those things!
