Every year I try to end my busy season the weekend before Thanksgiving. (Newborns are a whole different story since those little cuties pick their own timing!) Of course this is just the shooting portion of my work and there were still orders to fill and goodies to order but it was the start of the end for the year. And what a year it was! I easily did more than half my business for the whole year in just the last two months. Whew!
All that lovely work meant that I was spending a lot of time working and less time hanging out with my family so I decided that a little ‘reintroduction’ was in order. A fun time where I could say ‘Hi! My name is Mom!’. Allen and I booked a room at a hotel 20 minutes from home for the weekend after Thanksgiving. So fun!
We had a great time catching a 3D movie (The Life of Pi), poking around in all the shops at the mall, drooling over the new iPods at the Apple Store, grabbing dinner before SnowFlake Lane started and ending with an evening swim in the pool.
The next morning I made a quick trek out to hunt and gather nourishment for my family. Well, actually I walked over to Top Pot Donuts to pick up breakfast for my lovelies.
Then we ended with a two hour swim fest with some of our favorite friends. (These middle school girls better make sure nobody at school realizes that they can fit in a locker or they may find themselves a permanent home!)
This was so much fun I’m wondering if we should book our night now for next year too!
