What a weird year it was for Halloween for the Enebos. Not only was the weather the WORST we have had in years and years (more than 7 inches of rain from Friday-Sunday) but our girls were all over the place. Jill decided a couple of years ago that she was too old to trick or treat so she went to her friend Colin’s house and answered HIS door. Ellie really wanted to trick or treat but she couldn’t find any friends to go with her so she opted to go to the Husky Game with Mr. Fun. That turned out to be an awesome choice because the Huskies crushed Arizona in probably the best game the year. (And since the game was at 8pm on Halloween the stadium was only half full so there were plenty of undercover seats!)
Kate had the most traditional Halloween but still wanted very little to do with us parental types. The weather was horrid so I drove them to the top of the hill in our neighborhood and let them walk back down to our house. It really was only 6 or 7 long blocks but the rain was dumping sideways so they made it about 5 blocks, gave up, and called me to come get them. All told they were out for 1.5 hours. (I told Kate she had to be home by 9 because nothing good happens after 9pm on Halloween. She balked because she was starting at 6 and wanted plenty of time to hit a lot of houses. She was home by 7:30. Whew!)
A big thanks to our awesome neighbors and their haunted garage. If it weren’t for them and their amazing photo both I wouldn’t have ANY Halloween pictures! (Kate, BTW – is Groot the tree from Guardians of the Galaxy. I’m sure she is smiling under that mask!)
