For Christmas Allen and I gave Ellie and Kate some suede boots (Jill got a down vest). Aside from the cool fashion factor, this gift was actually a bit self serving. Kate NEVER has socks on which always caused delay in getting out the door to school. Now all she has to do is slip into her boots and she’s ready to go. The funny thing is she has always called them her ‘Mugs’. I’m all for fashion, but I’m also cheap. That’s why the boots we gave the girls were from Target. That way we could afford the Christmas present AND the Christmas dinner.
To make a long story longer, those wonderful Target boots busted a seam two weeks in Kate’s love affair with them. Since boots are hard to find now a days (you have to buy the before December or we are into spring items here) I had no replacements. Our good friend Anne came to the rescue with a pair of genuine hand me down Uggs. Wow! Ellie, our fashionista is just drooling at the thought. If she could have jammed her feed into those size 12s (Ellie is two sizes bigger) she would have. It’s almost unfortunate that Kate has no clue how ‘cool’ (according to Ellie) these boots are.
Let’s keep it that way. I can’t afford two fashionistas.
