Yesterday was a big day for Jill. She finished a quest that started way back last July. She finally finished the last page of the 7th, and last, Harry Potter book. What a saga. What an adventure. What will we do every morning from now on? It has been tradition to listen to Jill bubble over with excitement over what she’d just read. (She wakes up at 6AM and reads an hour before she comes down for breakfast.)
Today we are REALLY going to be at a loss for words. Litereally. Yesterday was also big for Jill because she left for 5th Grade Camp. She won’t be here in the morning to say ANYTHING and she is the only one who talks in the morning! Allen and I remember this as being an important milestone when we were growing up so we’ve been very excited for her. Jill has been cautiously excited, as you can see in the picture above. She’s not sure what to anticipate but she’s got a great cabin group and a great activity group so it will surely lead to some great fun. (On the Mommy front I’m happy because I know many of the volunteers and I know there will be many Mommy eyes watching out for my kid.)
Here’s a shot of Jill with her good buddy Henry. These two are so funny together. They used to talk a mile a minute and giggle almost as much. Lately it takes them awhile to warm up to each other. Granted, they don’t see each other as often, but I think a lot of it has to do with awkward preteen gawkiness. They are both getting so big I can hardly stand it!
