For those of you that don’t know my story let me share that for the first 8 years I was in business I had no idea how my camera worked. I always shot in idiot, I mean program mode. I knew how to compose a good picture because I had an eye for it but since I didn’t know how my camera was operating I had no idea how to fix my blurry image problem. I thought I wasn’t holding the camera still enough so I would practice being uuber still while I was shooting. (Turns out I was shooting in light that was too dim and the camera was using a shutter speed that was too slow.) So I am VERY familiar with camera shake!
This was a good lesson for us this week. It was time to stop talking at the kids and do something a bit more active. I even threw in a little home economics lesson (for free, of course) by having them sew their own bags!
We ended the evening by asking the kids to try self portraits this week. The bean bag will be helpful if they choose to use a timer, but we told them to be creative about how they shot it. It will be interesting to see what they do: shoot themselves in a mirror, shoot their reflection in water, shoot a picture of a picture, etc. What would YOU do?
