Yesterday the girls became obsessed with trying to raise money. Jill has decided that she wants to buy an iPod Touch (where did THAT idea come from?) with her own money. She will then, in turn, sell her Nano to Ellie who will then sell Kate her Shuffle. It’s a very complicated hierarchy that considers age and pay grades, but suffice it to say they all want to earn some money.
The only idea they could come up with, that didn’t cost money to make money, was babysitting. Since Jill is really the only one qualified (by age and slight experience) it was decided that she should be the one to advertise. That didn’t stop Ellie from helping out by making posters.
I couldn’t help but chuckle when I saw this one. Is this how it is supposed to work? Should I just take a picture of a large check (or piles of money), put my phone number on it and tack it up in a few places? Does that mean money will just come my way?
You should have seen the scowl on Ellie’s face when I explained that she needed to draw a picture of what the customer would be getting out of the deal (happy kids perhaps?), instead of what SHE would be getting out of the deal.
I also thought her name would be a good place to start…
