Normally I write my senior blog posts about my senior subject (Hi James!) but this time I just have to write it about his mom, Angie. Angie were good friends in high school (too many years ago to mention…so don’t ask!). And we both went to the University of Washington and went through rush together. Since we pledged different houses we mostly lost track of eachother during college. That’s why I was THRILLED when I got an email from her a couple weeks ago inquiring about a senior session for her son. I literally got goose bumps because I’d just been talking about her.
Angie’s story is the story I tell ALL girls who go through rush. She is the tale I tell to let girls know that even though rush is hard and highly dramatic, and you think you know exactly where you need to be but that is not how it turns out…it’s ok. Everything will be just fine. As convoluted and messed up as sorority rush sounds, AMAZINGLY girls end up just where they are supposed to be. Angie pledged a house that was not even on her radar and she had the best experience. We laughed at the start of the photo session about how crazy that process is and how neither one of us would have like or fit in the house we thought we wanted to be in. Sometimes you just need to trust the process and Angie is the perfect example of that!
I know, I have totally gone off the rails here. Poor James! When I asked James where he thought he might like to go to school next year he immediately said WSU. Eek! His Mama was a Husky. And that is when I found out that Angie was in a mixed marriage. Yup, she married a Coug. How did that even happen?! I plan to get to the bottom of that when I deliver James’ pictures and we have coffee and get a proper catch up!
James actually has a TON of schools he is looking at but it does sounds like WSU is in the pole position right now. Who am I to talk…MY kid is looking at that school for next year too!
Here are my favorite pictures from James’ session…
And a few with his family…
