By now the first day of school has become old hat for us. In fact, Jill didn’t even decide what she was going to wear until the actual day. The younger girls, however, have been planning for weeks!
This year was a bit strange for me because I didn’t go to any actual schools to see kids off. Kate is still in elementary school but this year she wanted to walk and didn’t want me there. Well, I guess it’s good to get her started now because as a 5th grader she will be walking most days to and from. She was most looking forward to having her best friend Annie in her class. This is the first time ever even though they’ve been at the same school for five years. (Only this girl could make a black and white outfit look so colorful!)
Ellie was most looking forward to seeing her new locker. By some divine intervention the school emailed us on Tuesday asking if they could give her a top lock in a better hallway so they could give a 6th grader her old locker. (She was surrounded by 6th graders which stinks when you are an 8th grader.) Um….YES PLEASE! Since they moved her things for her Ellie was looking forward to getting her teachers and seeing this new gem of a locker. (Why yes, Ellie DID pick rubber bands for her braces to match her first day of school outfit.)
Jill (10th Grade) was most looking forward to eating lunch with her pals and then walking to school together. On the first day of school at our high school they have orientation for the 9th grade and new students. Since she wasn’t starting until 12:30 she organized a meet up for lunch. Jill is also looking forward to learning how to pronounce her teacher’s names. Ha!
Looks like it’s going to be a great year for the Enebo girls but might prove to be a long one for the dog…
