Our 4th of July celebration was just the sort of laid back day we needed! We arrived home late the day before from Whistler so no time to plan or prepare anything. Good thing our neighbors like to fly by the seat of their pants too!
We started our day with the parade. As usual, there were just as many people walking in the parade as watching and it was fun to see our friends go by. We came home for a quick lunch and then hit the fields for the annual kids vs parents soccer game. This is such a fun tradition and I’m disappointed I didn’t get to join in. Next year for sure!
Here are the kids with their game faces on. (Nice game face Nathan!)
Here are the parents with THEIR game faces on. (Nice outfit Joe!)
And here are the game watchers. Glad I had Buster there to keep me company!
After a great BBQ dinner we finished the evening by making our own, slightly illegal, fireworks show. Our favorites this year were the Mad Dog and The Cavalry (the picture below is the kids trying to catch the parachute coming from the firework.) and we all agreed that the Pandas were lame!
We are so lucky to live next these guys and love all the memories our kids have together growing up!
