Today Kate takes the last final of her high school career. I know what you are thinking…’Wait! Didn’t she already graduate?’ Yes and no. The graduation ceremony was a couple weeks ago but she still had classes at the community college that she needed in order to complete her associates degree. So now she is ALL DONE! Woot!
Let’s start our catch up with prom. I don’t know why our high school does this so late but he prom was less than a week before graduation. As plans do in high school, they changed all the way up until almost the last day. But Kate went with a group of people she met in class at the community college. Not all of them go to her high school, but enough did so they could sponsor the others and all go together! Such a fun group of kids. They started their night with pictures (NATURALLY), then had dinner at Maggianos and headed off to prom. After the dance they made a few pit stops for snacks and a karaoke machine (as one does) and then ended up back here for a sleepover. We LOVED having them here!
Have no good pictures of graduation because it was pouring and night time. We literally looked like we were at a football game in late November rather than a graduation in June. Oh Mother Nature….what did we do to make you so mad?! Anyway, I’m glad I took pictures of her earlier in the day with out all the crazy and the dark.
Finally we had a fun party to honor Kate’s graduation. COVID kept quite a few people away (we appreciate their caution!) but we had a lot of fun nonetheless. We went with a breakfast party again (just like we did for Ellie) because not many people have parties that early and it leaves time for Kate to go to her friends’ parties too!
Kate has one more big even this month before she has a footloose and fancy free summer. She has orientation at Washington State University where she will meet her advisors, sign up for classes and get the lay of the land on campus. Whew! It’s been a long crazy month!
