I originally met Natalie when she was on my daughter, Ellie’s, soccer team. I was lucky enough to photograph her older brother and sister’s senior photos so I was thrilled when her mom called to schedule. Natalie’s main request was she wanted to be near water. I knew just the place. The Wooden Boat Center and Gas Works Park.
I didn’t even realize the significance of the water when she requested it. She has been on the school swim team her whole high school career. That is why she wanted to be near the water. I knew she also threw the discus, shot put and javelin for the track team and I asked her to bring some of them along so we could play with silhouettes. I LOVE that she looks like a warrior in it!
She named all of her throwing implements after Harry Potter characters. So no, the blog post title does not have a typo. Her discus is named after Sirius Black!
This girl has her heart set on studying marine biology or zoology at Colorado State next year.
Here are my favorites from this session. There are a lot of them!
I’m so glad her family was able to get together for family pictures at the end too. We even got the pups!
