Last weekend Allen took the girls camping with his family. This is an annual tradition and they love it. I love that they get some father daughter bonding time, but what I might love just a teensy bit more is the fact that I am left at home. All. By. Myself. (Woot! Woot!)
This year I invited Joelle (my sister for those that don’t know) to come stay the night so we could have a full day of hanging out and crafting. What a luxury! (Please note the chocolate, coffee and dualing sewing machines below. We were ready!)
We both had high hopes for all these projects we wanted to get done, but it turns out that our first projects took most of our time. Well, Joelle’s first project turned out to take ALL her time so she only finished one. But it was awesome and totally worth the time.
Joelle took one of those cheesy cardboard happy birthday banners and make a replica out of fabric and buttons and vintage ribbon. Adorable!
My first project was ridiculously expensive, took an inordinate amount of time and turned into a complete Pintrocity. (That is a Pinterest project that is an atrocity.) Blah! It looked so cute on the pattern but I truly stink at making clothes. Must remind myself of that next time I am tempted.
I next tried to make a cilantro avocado dip for us to snack on while we were crafting. Also a blah result so I was 0-2 on projects. I needed a win!
I did manage to finish strong with two different scarves and a pillow made from a napkin that Jill found at the fabric store.
There was lots of chatting, lots of HGTV, lots of chocolate and lots of fun. I’m signing up for this camp again next year!
