Kate does NOT like surprises. I think she might be a bit of a control freak. I have no idea where that came from!
For her theme this year Kate picked green. Green? Since I was mostly just decorating that was a great theme to work with!
For her cake I decided to go with a massive cupcake decorated with a ton of green M&Ms. No I didn’t need to separate them. These were mint M&M’s so three different colors of green all came in a bag together. Perfect!
While I was doing some last minute shopping for the party the little green gnome jumped in my cart and he seemed like the perfect guard for all of the green yummies I found for Kate and her friends.
When the girls arrived Kate’s expression was priceless. I wish I had a camera for it. It was worth all the work!
Allen set up an amazing scavenger hunt where the girls had to go all over Suncadia. He was totally surprised when they were killing it with the clues. They were speeding through them. When he finally asked how they were getting the answers so quickly they answered ‘We used our awesome people skills!’ They’d been asking for help along the way. That is definitely something that was NEVER considered at her sister’s parties. Ha!
I had a hard time coming up with a prize for the scavenger hunt but then inspiration struck. I decided to put some ‘green’ INSIDE the prize. These little emoji coin purses were just what we needed.
After the scavenger hunt the girls changed into jammies for cake and then the rest of us disappeared so they could watch whatever they wanted on the big TV and eat their green snacks to their hearts content. (What you can’t see in the black and white picture below is that Kate dressed for the theme too. Those are her new froggy jammies and they are bright green!)
These girlies have been besties for years and I’m so glad they could all make it out to celebrate our girl!
This concludes the Enebo birthday season. Whew!
