I told my girls that for Mother’s Day I wanted just one thing. They needed to find a time where they would ALL be in town, in Suncadia specifically, on the same day. This is no small feat. Kate is working two jobs, Ellie is living in Boise, and Jill is in the process of starting a new job, moving and has numerous summer camping trips scheduled.
But my girls did it! They all managed to come up to Suncadia just before the 4th of July. Of course I wanted all of this in order to get one specific family picture I had in mind. I had my tripod at the ready. Unfortunately due to inexperience and terrain I just didn’t get the camera up high enough to get the shot I was hoping for. That’s ok though! All I needed was one good family picture of all of us from that night…and I got it!
See that picture above? I’m thrilled with it. I’m pretty sure we are all laughing at the fact that I was trying to time my pinecone throwing with the flashing lights on the camera. (This was after I pressed the button, sprinted back and THEN threw the pinecone.). Why the pinecone? To try to get the dogs to look in the right direction of course! I was only 50% successful but Poppy is more like a cat than a dog and she will only look if she WANTS to look. Whatever dog!
All of the pictures were taken within walking distance of our new house. It is seriously so beautiful and watching the light change in the natural area behind our house is going to be one of my favorite past times.
Here are my favorite pictures from our photo shoot…
I’m also including our selfie from that night. I think I might love it just as much!
