This is the Annual Tree Hunt take 2. On this trip Allen, the girls and I were just along for the fun. We already had our trees up and decorated but we have so much fun with everybody else. And the day was truly spectacular. Sunny and clear and almost 50 degrees. (That was a miracle because the day before and day after our trip it didn’t even hit 40 degrees!)
There was tree picking and hide and seek and s’mores, and Christmas cookies and dunks for dogs and talking trees. And it never gets old!
Usually I change all the pictures to black and white because it makes it them timeless (and truth be told it’s way easier for me), but I had to leave that first picture in color because. Just because.
Here is the rest of our fun. Our quintessential Northwest experience always start with a ferry ride.
It is tradition to put a hat or a glove on the tree you are picking to take home. Not sure if it is to ‘claim’ it as yours or so you don’t forget which one you picked. Either way Miss Reece was a great shot and managed to mark their tree with a tree topper hat.
This is Joe the Talking Tree. He had my nephew Jack totally transfixed and following him like the pied piper.
It was Joe and Laura’s anniversary so we offered to have a commemorative s’more and we were so happy they celebrated with us.
A good time was had by all and even though there may have been a tree trying to turn sideways on the freeway, we all made it back unscathed!
