I know how important family pictures are. It feels like I’ve pitched a tent up on my soap box I’ve been up here so long! So why has it taken me this long to have extended family pictures taken? My Dad’s side of the family used to do this all the time. And that is saying something with one set of grandparents, four sons (my Dad and uncles), their wives and their kids. We were a massive crew and we had huge pictures taken every time we got together.
I groaned and complained and probably whined when I had to get in these pictures but now that my grandparents are gone I cherish them. They are so good for a laugh too. The outfits! The hair styles! Yikes, what a time machine! (If I can get ahold of one of those pictures I will share one day…after a few glasses of wine.)
That is why I was so pleased that we were able to gather the troops to have some pictures taken by my wonderful friend Judith. We both decided that we needed extended family pictures, and even though we don’t usually take pictures of such large groups we knew the importance so the trade was on. Unfortunately we picked a rainy weekend. Her picture day was a complete wash out and we barely had time to finish our, the next day, before it started raining again! Gotta love June in Seattle!
Anyway, here are my favorites. These ones are by Judith. (If I had a watermark I would have done that for her!)
And a few of my little family because I can’t take them myself!
And here are a few from my camera…
And one last one that cracks me up every time I look at it. I think it is particularly funny because these crazy faces were all for Joelle and Stephen!
