Has it only been a week since we did this party? Why does it feel like 2 months?! Let me start by saying that when we had this party people were just starting to do the social distancing. We would never do a sleepover or even a get together now…and certainly not a scavenger hunt! Things are changing so fast!
Back to my story…For this year’s party we had a brand new group of girls who had never experienced an Enebo birthday party. Kate has changed her social circle up quite a bit so it was fun to have newbies and for us to get to know these girls better!
For this year’s theme I decided to go with Friends. Not only because Kate has watched that series at least twice through but also in honor of these new friends!
Normally I totally surprise my girls with a theme but this year I thought Kate might need a project. She and her friends are TOTALLY into cake decorating. It’s what they do everytime they get together! So I had Kate make her OWN cake to my theme. And, we let everybody decorate some blank cupcakes as part of the of the party.
Of course the crowning jewel of any Enebo birthday party is the scavenger hunt. Allen had a good time coming up with Friends themed clues. Here are some examples:
PIVOT! Find your next clue where these are purchased and typically delivered …which is really what our Friends should have done! (Clue was in a couch in a furniture store.)
Joey and Chandler when out to get a pet. Your next clue is at the store where you can get one of your own. (Clue was hidden at The Grange in the baby chick enclosure.)
You’ll find your next clue with ‘the one’ teased for Monica-like tendencies as she scrubs the inside of the kitchen sink. Call her for your next clue. (Of course Jill was this clue!)
At the end of the hunt the girls found personalized glasses (filled with ‘Monica’s Mocklate’) with their names written in the Friends font.
They had plenty of snack for the night and lots of Friends episodes to binge on and we hardly saw them after the candles were blown out on the cake. I’m so glad that Kate’s last social activity was such a fun one!
And one more with Frankie…the newest party goer. She was a big hit with the girl too!
