Last week we were treated to Ellie’s recorder concert. Every year the fourth graders at our school learn to play the recorder. In order to encourage and motivate kids to learn their songs the music teacher has instituted a belt system. Much like earning belts in karate, the kids earn belts, or ribbons, for each song they master. Not only do these kids need to learn these songs for themselves, but they put on a concert for the parents. Imagine 115 fourth graders playing together for 14 different songs. Now imagine all of the practice that had to go into that. Ms. Badgley is a saint!
Ellie did a great job and I particularly like the colorful nailpolish that went along with all of her colorful belts. Way to go kid!
