That is what the girls proclaimed after our recent trip to Orlando to visit our good friend Harry. I’ll warn you now, this is a picture heavy blog post so you probably need a full cup of coffee for this one! (I should also say that half of these pictures were taken with my dslr and half with my iphone. So if it is a grainy or blown out picture you can guess which one that probably came from!)
We stayed on site at Universal and that was the best decision. Not only was it just a six minute walk to the amusement park, but we got early entry to Hogsmead AND we had express passes that got us to the front of the line for most rides. That was key!
On our first day we basked in the 75 degrees and took in all the sites. Kate and I even made it back to the hotel in time to enjoy the pool and the older girls kept Mr. Fun company while he started his quest to go on all the rides.
I’m glad we got that pool time because it just got colder and colder on our trip! On Day 2 we left bright and early so we could take lots of pictures in Hogsmead before it got too busy. The scale of things was amazing!
This is the girls waiting for Honeydukes to open so they could sample the peppermint toads. Yum!
The details they incorporated were a feast for the eyes. We wanted to see it all! (Hard core Harry Potter fans will really appreciate it!)
We decided that we prefer to chew our pumpkin pie spice instead of slurp it. This was not our favorite!
Butterbeer, however, was a big hit. It tasted a bit like cream soda with a big froth on top:
The Toad Choir.
This window had a screaming Mandrake in it. You could hear it squealing all the way around the corner. Clearly the girls forgot to wear their ear protection!
Stay tuned for part 2 on Wednesday. (Seriously, I’ve got too many pictures I need to share!)
