In our family, getting earrings is a rite of passage. A celebration! Why not tack this on to the end of our crazy week? The neat thing is that Jill’s best friend Madison came with her and got her ears pierced at the same time.
Jill was excited to get it done, but she was more than nervous and shaky when it came time to get it done. We had a fantastic technician who went through it all in a nice calm manner.
Madison went second and her mama was much nicer than me. Instead of shooting 437 pictures of the momentous event (okay, a slight exaggeration) Becky held Madison’s hand. It was not clear, until the last minute, if Madison was going to go through with it, but she did well too!
Bravery should always be rewarded so we made a celebratory stop at Cold Stone. Relief is evident on their faces!
And this is the sign we found welcoming us home. Or at least welcoming Jill’s earlobes!
This concludes the best week of Jill’s life. We come home from Orlando (see those pictures here next week), have four snow days, she turns 13, has her birthday party and gets her ears pierced. I can’t imagine what she will do for an encore!
