Last week we started the annual school shopping nights. Kate was first and it’s really amazing how much she has grown up. I’m not just talking physically either. In years past her only goal was to get some dinner, stop for a toy at Claires and then head home. I had to force her to stop and buy a shirt or two! And forget about trying anything on! This year was different. Not only did she want to try on various outfits, but she wanted to do it herself. She booted me out of the dressing room before I could even step foot in there! Kate was nice enough to come out an model her outfits, though. As you can see, Kate is also a big fan of boots in her footware. These ones, however, are ridiculous. Sorry, my six year old is NOT wearing boots with a heal that go all the way up to her knee. (Can you say Pretty Woman?)
We opted for these ones instead. Much more practical for running around at recess and something that won’t have Mr. Fun loading his shotgun every time she goes out. (Now if we could just do something about her model poses!)
Taco Time was her choice of cuisine. I guess I should be thankful that it wasn’t the surf and turf at our local steak joint!
Kate’s favorite stop was at Claire’s, the local crap store. I truly get overwhelmed by the volume of pink and purple and princess.
Kate has to make at least one pass by everything to make sure she sees it all. The funny thing is, though, that she always ends up buying the first thing she saw. (This is NOT what she bought.)
To see what Kate purchased and her thoughts on school next year take a peek at this. (This video almost had me calling this blog post ‘Like Totally Dude!’)
