My computer died and it took almost a week for the ‘Geniuses’ at Apple to fix it. I finally got it back last Thursday night and I can’t believe how easy it was to restore it to the way it was. I unintentionally sent my backup to an external drive along with all of my image files back in November. Thank heavens I did. Since I had that file all I had to do was click a few boxes, wait a few hours and I was back up and running. Amazing!
Right before my computer died I took pictures of Jill and Ellie’s special days. Both of them were supposed to celebrate this day back in December but snow got in the way.
Jill’s special day was called Market Day. The kids all had to come up with a product to make and a marketing plan for their ‘business’. They’ve been earning Grizzly Bucks for good behavior all year and this was their first opportunity to spend it. Jill made paper dolls and outfits. Her target audience was the second grade girls but she sold an amazing amount to the mothers who wanted to relive their childhood. She sold out quickly.
Ellie’s special day was a Heritage Party. Each of the kids needed to bring in something that they do to celebrate the holidays that was unique to their family. Every Christmas we have ‘Christmas Crackers’ on our holiday table. It is an old English tradition and I have no idea why. We all pull tabs that make a bang, read a corny joke, put on our paper crowns and show off our silly toys. A fun tradition that Ellie was happy to bring in to class. (I’ve also included a picture of Ellie’s teacher Ms. Evanger. We love her!)
