Actually Cooper was really pulling a table (not mimicing Marly and Me) but let me back up a bit here. Today I walked with Cooper to our local Starbucks for a bit of refreshment. My skittish new pooch is afraid of many things (loud voices, his water bowl, and metal grates in sidewalks to name a few) but we’d had a great walk. Once we got there I attempted to tie Cooper up so I could go in and get some coffee. I didn’t find many options so I chose an outdoor table and I figured Cooper wouldn’t go far because his favorite place to be is attached to my hip.
Wrong! I hadn’t even taken one step before all ##%$ broke loose. Cooper moved the table on accident. That noise completely freaked him out causing him to run away from the table he was leashed to. That means the table was going along with him. I was barely able to catch the table by the bottom of the leg as it went flying past me. Poor Cooper was so scared he was growling at the table and playing tug of war with me. He almost pulled all of us into a parked car! (I so wish I could have had a video of this to share.)
I finally got the poor guy calmed down and instead decided to tie him to a shrub instead. I’m happy to report he did not do any unauthorized landscaping.
Happy Friday!
PS – One more funny aside. As I am writing this (on Thursday night) I can hear Kate calling out in her sleep. She is saying ‘Cooper? COOPER?’ I tell ya, this is the dog of our dreams!
