Last night we took the girls ice skating with their elementary school. Kate had been begging to go skating since she broke her arm last winter so saying ‘No’ to this activity wasn’t even an option.
We had a great time and the girls really got the hang of it by the end of the evening. Of course it was crazy, though, so I was looking for a bit of quiet by the time I got to the car. All of the girls had a great time but little Miss Motormouth (Kate) couldn’t stop talking.
‘Hey Mama! I could skate all by myself at the end!’
‘Hey Mama! I only fell twice!”
On and on this went until finally there was some blessed silence. Until…
‘Hey Mama!”
‘Yes Kate?”
‘I’m touching my eyebrow.’
‘Thanks for sharing, kid.’
‘Hey Mama! I really am.’
