I’m sure I’ve shared this on my blog before, but that is my philosophy in life and business. K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stupid. It could also be Keep it simple because I’m stupid but we won’t go there!
So going along with that theme, that is how I decorate my house for the holidays. I get a little crazier on the inside, than the outside, but I have a few tasteful decorations outside and that is it. I have a lovely garland around my front door with little white lights. I even went a bit crazy and added some polka dot balls.
Not crazy enough for my kids, though. They have decoration envy. As we drove to church last night they shared their displeasure with my decorating style. They want lights circling every architectural detail of our house. They would probably like a blow up snow globe too. When I explained that that just wasn’t my style Kate asked if we could put up a sign in the front yard.
‘What do you want it to say?’
‘I want it to say WE DON’T HAVE ANY LIGHTS THIS YEAR BUT MAYBE SOMEDAY WE WILL.’
Maybe. But I’m drawing the line. WE will definitely NOT have a Santa on the roof!
