Last July I took a retail job for fun. Actually, I 100% took the job for the people and it was a GREAT decision. It brought Erica into my world! The store I work out is basically staffed with people my age EXCEPT for Erica. So we all thoroughly enjoyed watching her bake little Miss Lola for nine months…and a little bit more.
I have not done a newborn session in YEARS. I didn’t even have all my old equipment anymore and had to borrow it. So I was more than nervous to do this session. Would I remember what to do? Would it kill my back and send me into traction? Would I lose 10 pounds in sweat?
I DID, apparently remember what to do, it did NOT kill my back and I DID sweat through all my clothes. This was by far the easiest newborn session I’ve ever done. No joke. I think Lola must have known I was nervous. She fell asleep almost instantly in my arms. (I would have been ok with more rocking and cradling though.) She stayed asleep the whole time and mostly allowed me to put her into all the positions I wanted. Not only that, but the lighting at Erica’s house was so yummy and their walls were white so it bounced to all the right places. It was the perfect recipe for success.
Here are my favorites from this special session…
