It’s time for me to brag a bit about this kid. She is the quiet one with imposter syndrome. She’s the one who is going to put her head down, do her work, go above and beyond and quietly take her accolades. She was nominated to be a top 10 scholar of her whole graduating class, she’s the top of her graphic design class and she’s the top scholar of her sorority pledge class too.
Oh, and did I say she’s graduating with a 4.0 in honors at Boise State? Yeah, that! She’s working hard to find a job in Portland Oregon where she is planning to move with her current roommate. It’s not easy to find a job in a city you have no contacts in but she’s got a good network of friends, colleagues and professors so we know she will find something soon!
It feels like it’s been awhile since I’ve done a photoshoot of just Ellie and we had a great time. (And truth be told we did her roommates graduation pictures at the same time!). We used some of the the typical spots on campus (The B, the student mural) and then we used some spots around and in the art building that she spent so much time in. Perfectly captured her experience!
One note on her outfit. Ellie, our fashionista, was not interested in wearing a little white dress. (As is often custom.) WE shopped HARD looking at all the local vintage shops for something that inspired her. As soon as we saw this shirt, in her school colors, with a BIG E on it we knew we had to have it. Not only that, but the shirt is an authentic 60’s sports jersey and this kid could NOT be a bigger sports fan!
We will be going back to Boise in a few short weeks for her graduation. Can’t wait!
This last one kind of slays me. The end of a long, sometimes painful (feet) photoshoot. Similar to the end of a long and sometimes painful (pandemic) college career. Both made it through with grace and humor!
