Jill has finally gotten to the point where she has stopped growing. Which means she that a lot of the clothes she got last year still fit. Weird! We went from Jill needing the most clothes every year to needing the least.
We started out with a quick dinner at Azteca for our favorite mexican food and then we hit the mall running. Jill needed jeans so I taught her the age old trick of trying on multiple pairs of jeans all in the same size. Crazy how different they all fit! We thought it was interesting that some of the pairs were ‘pre-distressed’ in the heels. Really? They want your jeans to look like you’ve been walking on the back of them for months? That’s a feature? I’m too old!
It’s amazing how much you can hear in dressing rooms. When the girl next to us loudly proclaimed ‘I can’t fit anything over my boobs!’ we both lost it. Jill was laughing so hard she had tears running down her face!
Next up in the school shopping hit parade was unmentionables. Eliminating words (like Diva or Princess) splashed across the undies and lacy barely there bras limited our choices but we found some cute things and continued on our quest.
We found some great tops too, contrary to this look on Jill’s face.
We ended our night with a gluten free dairy free yummy FULL treat.
Jill said she was most looking forward to learning more American Sign Language this year. She’s been learning words over the summer online and can’t wait to dig in more. Jill is least looking forward to the drama that tends to happen in high school. There was a bit here and there last year and Jill doesn’t do drama!
What did this kid pick as her ‘treat’? I don’t have a picture of it because she wants a new book for her Kindle. I am ALWAYS happy to buy books!
Here’s to a good year for all my girls!
