That’s right. We surprised the girls last weekend with a trip to Great Wolf Lodge. For those of you NOT in the know, that is a chain of indoor water parks. They have them across the United States, but we are lucky enough to have one just a couple of hours away from us. After years of hearing ‘Why are we the only ones who have never been to Great Wolf Lodge?’ we finally caved. Actually, we tried to cave back in February but Cooper got sick and we didn’t think it would be very nice to be off having fun while he was in the hospital.
This place is amazing! There were huge slides that required rafts, there were inner tube slides, there were regular twisty slides, there was a wave pool, lilly pads, pool basketball, toddler toys and a huge bucket of water that dumped gallons of water on the waiting masses every five minutes. And we tried it all except for The Cyclone because that name was too scary for Ellie. In addition to water activities they also had this great magic wand scavenger hunt. We got one wand for all the kids to share and made it a family activity solving all the clues for the different adventures. This hunt is brilliantly done because there is a book of clues and five floors and stairwells to find the clues on. They have adults and kids running up and down flights of stairs and criss crossing the entire facility. Such fun and great exercise. My gluts thank them!
I may be nominated for Parent of the Year but I won’t be for Photographer of the Year. I only have a few shots of our trip (none of the magic wands) because my battery died. I know, rookie maneuver, right? The problem was it was a fresh battery. Me thinks it is a goner. Oh well, at least I got these shots! Here are my favorites…
Funniest moment I missed with my camera? The wardrobe malfunction that happened right before this shot. I didn’t want to spill my strawberry Margarita so I missed the bare buns shot of Kate in the wave pool. I have my priorities!
