I have not seen Jack since he was in 7th grade. I first met him when he was in Ellie’s preschool class and I’d photographed him a few times but he moved in 7th grade so I lost track of him. I was thrilled when his mom reached out early in the summer to set up his senior session.
Jack was so much fun to catch up with. I loved hearing about his drama crew and the productions he’s worked on. I loved hearing about how he is most interested in going to school on the east coast next year where there are big buildings, lots of people, and crazy hubbub. He joked that he will be majoring in computer science instead of being in the drama program ‘because I want to eat’. Ha!
He’s the perfect example of somebody using both sides of their brain! He even found a volunteer opportunity to combine them too. He spent more than a week volunteering for Scratch to update and fix their musical offerings. (Scratch is a program that teaches kids/people how to write code. My kids used it in middle school to make video games.) It sounds like he even wrote some of the music the program uses. Fascinating!
Here are my favorites…
I love that we were able to get some family pictures too. Wouldn’t you know that there had been NO rain all summer and there were thundershowers earlier in the day? Thank goodness things dried out enough for us all to meet up!
