Last week I very quietly went live with a brand new website. I like to sneak these things in just to see if anybody is paying attention. Or perhaps it is because I wanted to test it a bit before I announced it to the world? Nah, I wanted to see if you were paying attention.
Earlier this month when I attended WPPI I had a lucky lunch break. Since there were so many of us all getting lunch at the same time seating was at a premium. We begged a lovely gal to use the other seats at her table and then started up a typical small talk conversation. ‘So, who do you work for?’ Come to find out she works for Showit, a company that provides customizable websites for creatives.
Since I was in the market for a new website I proceeded to grill her through our whole lunch. Good thing she was already finished and happy to talk! I think that lunch was meant to be so I ran right over, after lunch, and signed up for a website.
The next step in my saga was to figure out how I wanted it to look. I found a bunch of companies who could design it for me on the Showit platform but I am just too hands on for my own good. I need to tinker under the hood. Plus, as much as I liked some of the beautiful, very involved sites I saw out there, turns out I like SUPER simple. I really just want it to be about the pictures.
Eventually I will roll out all sorts of added goodies (A special site for clients with links to session information, a site designed specifically for mobile devices, a new blog, etc.) but for now I’d love it if you could take a look and let me know what you think.
