Normally this picture would be in my delete pile, but it totally reminds me of the Twilight books. It was taken over on the Olympic Peninsula so it was in a similar area and I can just see Edward hoofing it through the woods.
This, of course, is Jill. I don’t want her falling for these books. (Although I am told that her classmates read them!) I read the first one this summer for book club and while I hated the whole idea of it, I quickly consumed the other three books in the following two weeks.
Why do I hate them? Because the main character, Bella, is a teenage girl who is constantly waiting for some guy to come and save her. What utter hogwash! She is like a grown up Disney Princess. When my girls got old enough I sat them all down and told them that Disney Princesses were crap. Yes, I used that word. I told them that they can darn well save themselves and if they want to save a fallen prince in the process they were more than welcome. But NO waiting for help. Take care of yourselves!
Of course all of that doesn’t mean I am without my opinions. I’m for Team Jacob!
