A few weeks ago I talked briefly about the gift we gave our parents for Christmas this year. My parents are hard to buy for. They have everything they need and they recently moved into a smaller home so they have less room for extraneous stuff. (Not that we would EVER give anything extraneous!)
That got my siblings and me thinking. My Dad had had a rough fall health wise and that scare really made us all appreciate our parents even more. It also made us realize we probably haven’t told them how much we love them.
With all that in mind I set about to find a videographer who could help us with our vision. Our project was unusual and I couldn’t find anybody making exactly the kind of video we wanted so I started looking at wedding videographers. I found Red Filter Wedding Films and loved their style. Nathaniel and Shelby were touched by our project idea and their enthusiasm was infectious. They were the perfect couple to collaborate with.
We gathered at my parents’ old house (still on the market) on a perfect crisp fall day and we were all filmed as separate groups sharing our favorite stories. We talked about all the gifts (the gift of laughter, family, adventure, etc.) my parents gave US. The amazing part is how seamlessly Nathaniel put all of our thoughts together. We all had tears in our eyes when we previewed it.
We had such a great time making the video and an even better time giving it to my parents. Their reaction was truly priceless and everything we hoped for!
The real video is 30 minutes long but Nathaniel was nice enough to give me this teaser video to give you a little taste test of the true video. In our excitement we told a lot of friends about this super secret surprise so we are finally happy to share just a bit of it!
Without further ado…
